Accucom Wins Dismissal of Publicity Suit Over Lawyer Site Check

Accucom Corp. convinced a federal court to dismiss a proposed Illinois Right of Publicity Act class action after the record showed the operator of infotracer.com didn’t appropriate the plaintiff’s identity for commercial aims.

Marilyn Azuz’s counsel searched for and found her personal information on infotracer.com, and Azuz sued alleging her data was being used to advertise the people reporting site.
