Verizon Settles 5G Patent Case After First Day of New Trial

Verizon Wireless and General Access Solutions Ltd. settled their dispute after the first day of the new trial a Texas federal judge ordered after tossing a jury’s $847 million patent-infringement verdict.

The parties “have settled in principle via a binding term sheet” and asked to pause the case for 30 days so they can finalize the agreement, according to a joint motion to stay and notice of settlement filed Sunday in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas.
