US Well Services Appeals Halliburton Fracking Patent Challenges

US Well Services LLC asked the Federal Circuit to review administrative decisions that invalidated all or parts of seven electric fracking patents it has accused Halliburton Energy Services Inc. of infringing.

On Monday, the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit docketed three new cases brought by ProFrac Holding Corp. unit USWS, which is targeting a series of rulings from the Patent Trial and Appeal Board.

The PTAB nixed more than 100 claims from the seven USWS patents initially asserted in a federal lawsuit in the US District Court for the Western District of Texas.
