Halliburton Energy Services Inc. defeated about three dozen claims in two electric fracking patents that are part of an infringement lawsuit against the company in Waco, Texas.
On Jan. 17, the Patent Trial and Appeal Board ruled that 37 claims in patents owned by US Well Services Inc.—Nos. 9,970,278 and 10,408,030—are invalid on the grounds that they would’ve been obvious to a skilled engineer based on prior art.
