Tesla Drops Suit as Company Agrees to Recall Charging Adapters

Tesla Inc. stipulated to dismissal of a trademark lawsuit filed last month after the defendant agreed to recall unsafe adapters designed to tap into Tesla’s charging network.

N&B Mobility Solutions LLC, which operates as Nivion, agreed to initiate a recall with federal regulators and “take all reasonable steps” to carry it out “without delay,” according to a stipulated order issued Thursday in the US District Court for the Northern District of California. Tesla’s Nov. 7 complaint said the “highly unsafe” chargers—marketed to charge non-Tesla vehicles on Tesla’s Supercharger infrastructure—"may forseeably cause catastrophic injury.”
