Tesla Sues Firm Over ‘Unsafe’ Adapters for EV Charging Network

Tesla Inc. sued a Wyoming-based company for selling what the electric vehicle maker calls a “dangerous” and “highly unsafe” adapter for its charging network that it says dilutes its trademarks.

N&B Mobility Solutions LLC, which operates as Nivion, has marketed its adapter as a safe way for people to charge non-Tesla vehicles on Tesla’s Supercharger network, Tesla said in its complaint filed Thursday in the US District Court for the Northern District of California. A third-party engineering team’s review of Nivion’s design, however, revealed risks of major injury or fire.
