Target, Atari Resolve ‘Foot Pong’ Game Trademark Dispute

Target Corp. and Atari Interactive Inc. have settled their dispute over Target’s alleged misuse of the video-game company’s “Pong” trademarks with a “Foot Pong” game in its stores, according to a filing in Minnesota federal court.

Atari said Target installed its “Foot Pong” in dozens of stores. Its complaint said Target’s “imitation” was identical to Atari’s classic “Pong” game, but projected onto store floors with players controlling the paddles with their feet. It also alleged Target knew it was infringing Atari’s trademarks and copyrights because it sells official Pong merchandise.
