Patent owner Symbology Innovations LLC and one of the companies it sued asked a Texas federal judge to separate claims in the case over video game digital distribution tech from those of the “true defendant,” developer Valve Corp.
Symbology originally sued Valve and and its customer Gearbox Software LLC in September, alleging they infringed a handful of its patents by making and utilizing products that employ methods to retrieve information using QR codes on devices.
