Utah Sued by Social Media Users, Creators Over Age-Check Law (1)

A group of Utah social media users and content creators sued the state in an effort to block a sweeping law set to take effect on March 1 that would require social media companies to verify the ages of their users and restrict how young people can use their products.

The lawsuit, brought by the free speech organization Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression, comes less than a month after the tech industry trade group NetChoice brought a similar case seeking to stop the law from going into effect.
