Samsung Settles Radian’s Lawsuit Over Solid-State Drive Patents

Samsung Electronics Co. reached an agreement to settle an infringement lawsuit brought by the owner of a pair of solid-state drive patents.

Radian Memory Systems LLC and Samsung filed a joint notice of settlement in principle Nov. 5 at the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. Details of the agreement weren’t immediately available and counsel for the parties didn’t immediately respond to requests for comment.

The deal comes four months after Radian withdrew its bid for a preliminary injunction blocking Samsung from selling infringing solid-state drives in the US. Samsung had argued Radian’s motion citing 18th century ...
