Samsung, Patent Owner Hannibal Drop 5G Tech Fight in Texas Court

Samsung Electronics Co. and Hannibal IP LLC resolved their patent infringement dispute concerning Galaxy products utilizing wireless communication technology.

Hannibal dismissed its allegations against Samsung and its American unit with prejudice, according to a joint stipulation filed Monday in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas.

Hannibal sued Samsung in February 2025, accusing the electronics giant’s Galaxy smartphones and tablets of infringing four patents related to 5G technology methods.

Samsung argued in June 2025 that the inventors of the mobile patents withheld information from the US Patent and Trademark Office during the application process.
