Samsung, AT&T, LG, Lenovo, Asus Face Patent Infringement Claims

Samsung Electronics Co., AT&T Inc., Lenovo Group Ltd., LG Electronics Inc., and AsusTek Computer Inc. were hit with separate suits in the same federal court alleging infringement of the same wireless spectrum patent.

Patent holder USTA Technology LLC alleges the companies are infringing US Patent No. RE47,720, entitled “Spectrum-Adaptive Networking,” which relates to managing interference in a radio communications network, according to the complaints filed in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas.

USTA is a patent licensing company that owns several patents issued to Waltham, Mass., inventor Jerry Burchfiel.
