Google Wins Transfer of WiFi Chip Suit from Texas to California

A Texas judge shipped a patent infringement case against Google LLC to Northern California where the tech giant is headquartered.

USTA Technology LLC sued Google in late 2022 in the US District Court for the Western District of Texas for infringement of a single patent—US Patent No. RE47,720—which relates to managing interference in a radio communications network.

The suit was filed in Waco, one of the most popular venues in the nation for patent plaintiffs, but was assigned to San Antonio-based Judge Xavier Rodriguez.
