Roku Inc. is settling a lawsuit alleging its streaming devices and TVs infringed five patents.
Roku and plaintiff Communication Advances LLC asked the court Thursday to pause proceedings to finalize the agreement and file a motion to dismiss, in a joint motion filed in the US District Court for the Western District of Texas.
- Communication Advances sued Roku in September alleging it infringed US Patent Nos. 8,259,818; 8,736,529; 9,538,177; 8,284,839 and 8,494,058.
- The patents concern technical problems and solutions for high-speed transmission, video decoding, and video processing, according to the complaint.
