Roku Inc. was hit with patent infringement allegations in Texas federal court over the creation and sale of its popular streaming devices and TVs.
Roku’s devices use similar methods to five patents addressing technical problems and solutions for high-speed transmission, video decoding, and video processing, Communication Advances LLC said in a complaint filed Wednesday in the US District Court for the Western District of Texas.
Roku allegedly violated US Patent Nos. 8,259,818; 8,736,529; 9,538,177; 8,284,839 and 8,494,058, according to the complaint.
