A Queens, New York-based film festival ended its trademark lawsuit against a similarly named upstart.
Queens World Film Festival Inc. sued Queens Film Festival Inc. last month in the US District Court for the Eastern District of New York, saying the newer showcase refused to change its name after Queens World raised objections and instead immediately filed an application to register its own name as a trademark.
Queens World’s Thursday filing dismissed the case without prejudice. The parties didn’t immediately respond to requests for comment.
