A legal challenge by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton (R) to a Democratic-leaning county’s bid to increase voter turnout by mailing registration forms fell short Monday, with a judge saying the sign-ups are already in the mail.
During a hearing in Bexar County, home of San Antonio, State District Judge Antonia Arteaga ruled from the bench that Paxton’s request to stop the mailings is moot, according to the judge’s chambers.
Paxton announced Monday that he filed a notice to appeal the decision.
