ParkerVision Revives Qualcomm Patent Suit at Federal Circuit

ParkerVision Inc. will get another chance to assert wireless transmission patents against Qualcomm Inc. after the Federal Circuit undid a series of district court decisions ending the lawsuit.

A Florida federal judge erred in barring Parkervision from making certain arguments and blocking its expert’s testimony in the lead-up to granting summary judgment of non-infringement to Qualcomm, the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit ruled in a precedential opinion issued Friday.

It’s the third time the 13-year-long dispute has reached the appellate body sometimes called the nation’s highest patent court, following decisions in 2015 and 2018.
