Oura Copyright Claims Paused in Ultrahuman Smart Ring Dispute

A Texas federal judge agreed to pause proceedings for Oura Health Oy’s copyright claims against competitor Ultrahuman Healthcare Pvt. pending a federal trade agency investigation over smart ring products.

Magistrate Judge Roy Payne granted the companies’ joint motion to stay pending a final resolution at the International Trade Commission, according to an order filed Monday in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. The court previously stayed patent allegations in the dispute in August, and the parties said in their Feb. 27 joint motion to stay that it would be advantageous to stay all remaining claims.
