Oura’s Patent Suit Against Ultrahuman Stayed for ITC Case (2)

A Texas federal judge paused proceedings for Oura Health Oy’s patent allegations against Ultrahuman Healthcare Pvt. Ltd, finding overlap between the asserted claims and those involved in a trade investigation over smart ring products.

Magistrate Judge Roy Payne granted Ultrahuman’s motion to stay Oura Health’s patent claims pending a final resolution at the International Trade Commission, but denied its bid to also pause copyright allegations because they concern different law, according to a memorandum order filed Aug. 2 in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas.
