NY SNAP Waiver Termination Lawsuit Dropped by Legal Aid Group

The Urban Justice Center-Safety Net Project is ending its lawsuit over the US Department of Agriculture’s termination of a waiver exempting certain New York SNAP recipients from the program’s work requirements.

The legal aid nonprofit and New York City resident Laeticia Miguel, a SNAP recipient, filed a notice of voluntary dismissal on Monday in the US District Court for the Southern District of New York. Recipients of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program who are able-bodied without dependents must meet certain work requirements.
