Nike Settles With L.A. Streetwear Brand Over Alleged Fake Shoes

Nike Inc. and Warren Lotas settled a dispute in Los Angeles federal court over the streetwear brand’s sales of allegedly fake Nike Dunk sneakers.

The settlement permanently bars Lotas from selling the allegedly trademark-infringing shoes as well as additional Lotas-branded Nike shoes, shirts, shorts, and other apparel, according to a Dec. 11 filing in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.

Nike argued in an October complaint that a Lotas line of custom Nike Dunks caused consumer confusion about whether they are “legitimate customizations or illegal fakes.” The complaint said that “not a single component of Warren ...
