Netflix Resolves Writer’s ‘Stranger Things’ Screenplay Suit (1)

Netflix Inc. and the duo behind the hit sci-fi horror show “Stranger Things” reached an agreement to end a copyright infringement lawsuit from a writer who claimed key elements of his earlier screenplay called “Totem” were used without his permission.

The Aug. 11 joint agreement to dismiss the suit said both parties would bear their own attorneys’ fees and costs but provided no additional details. The case was set for a jury trial in the US District Court for the Central District of California in September.
