Netflix Drops ‘Unofficial Bridgerton Musical’ IP Suit

Netflix Worldwide Entertainment withdrew its lawsuit accusing “Unofficial Bridgerton Musical” creators Abigail Barlow and Emily Bear of copyright and trademark infringement over their July stage show in Washington, D.C.

Netflix offered no information on the reason for dropping the lawsuit in its filing Friday in D.C. federal court.

Barlow and Bear staged a “massive, for-profit” show at the Kennedy Center using their songs based on the popular historical-romance television series “Bridgerton” over Netflix’s “repeated objections,” according to the complaint filed in July.
