Netflix, Conan Doyle Estate Resolve ‘Enola Holmes’ Dispute (2)

The estate of “Sherlock Holmes” author Sir Arthur Conan Doyle agreed to dismiss claims that Netflix Inc.'s 2020 film “Enola Holmes"—about the fictional detective’s younger sister—infringes its copyrights and trademarks, according to a filing in New Mexico federal court.

Conan Doyle Estate Ltd.'s June complaint also named author Nancy Springer, who wrote the “Enola Holmes Mysteries” that the film is based on, and publisher Penguin Random House for allegedly using copyrightable aspects of his works that aren’t yet in the public domain.
