A New Orleans music group ended its copyright infringement lawsuit against Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Sony Music Entertainment, and other artists.
Da Showstoppaz filed a notice of voluntary dismissal Wednesday in the US District for the Eastern District of Louisiana. The group—formed in 2002 by Tessa Avie, Keva Bourgeois, Henri Braggs, and Brian Clark—had initially sought royalties and credit on rapper Big Freedia’s “Explode” and Beyoncé’s “Break My Soul.”
Beyoncé’s production company, Parkwood Entertainment LLC, was also listed as a defendant.
