Microsoft, ParTec Settle AI Supercomputer Tech Patent Dispute

Microsoft Corp. and German supercomputer maker ParTec AG resolved their patent infringement dispute concerning cluster computing technology Microsoft uses in its Azure AI system.

The companies May 8 told the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas that they’d reached a confidential settlement, requesting a 30-day stay so that the parties could file dismissal papers.

ParTec alleged Microsoft’s cloud-based platform infringed three patents by using similar methods for cluster computing.
