Microsoft Hit With Patent Lawsuit by German Supercomputer Maker

German supercomputer maker ParTec AG sued Microsoft Corp. Monday, alleging the American tech giant infringed patents with its Azure AI system, which Microsoft touts as “the world’s largest AI supercomputer.”

“Microsoft has spent over $100 billion in capital expenditures, much of which is attributed to serve infrastructure” and building out the features which ParTec accuses of infringing its patents, “including $40 billion in the last 12 months alone,” according to ParTec’s complaint filed in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas.

Microsoft didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.
