Sterling Computers Corp. and Meta Platforms Inc. agreed to pause proceedings in their dispute over a patent for determining electronic content relevancy pending the outcome of an administrative tribunal’s review.

Meta filed a petition in January challenging claims of US Patent No. 7,716,217, according to a stipulation filed Feb. 21 in the US District Court for the Western District of Texas. Sterling and Meta said they agreed to stay proceedings, stating the Patent Trial and Appeal Board’s future final written decision has the potential to streamline matters in the district court and help with a settlement agreement.
