L’Oreal, UMass Finalize Deal Ending Moisturizer-Patents Clash

L’Oreal SA formalized a settlement agreement with the University of Massachusetts and a former Catholic monk’s company to end a lawsuit over patent royalties on a RevitaLift-branded moisturizer.

UMass, Carmel Laboratories LLC, and the French giant’s L’Oreal USA Inc. unit dropped all claims and counterclaims, barring any renewed allegations, according to a stipulation and order of dismissal approved Monday by Judge Jennifer L. Hall in the US District Court for the District of Delaware.
