Limelight Networks Escapes Contempt Threat in LG Patent Case

Limelight Networks Inc.'s production of relevant evidence in a patent dispute between LG Electronics Inc. and Ancora Technologies Inc. was enough to convince a federal court in Arizona not to hold it in contempt for “bad-faith litigation tactics.”

Judge Dominic W. Lanza had threatened to hold Limelight in contempt after Ancora accused Arizona-based Limelight of refusing to provide documents and testimony related to the patented technology and its relevant agreements with LG.

Limelight isn’t a party in that case, which was filed in Texas. Ancora sued LG alleging it infringed U.S. Patent No. 6,411,941, covering technology to restrict the unauthorized ...
