Judge Won’t Revive Location Tech Patent Suits Against Uber, Lyft

Rideshare companies Uber Technologies Inc. and Lyft Inc. defeated a patent owner’s bid to revive infringement suits against them a year after a California judge invalidated claims of the patents at issue.

Judge Edward Davila rejected Enovsys LLC’s argument the court’s dismissals of the separate suits were premature because of an administrative tribunal’s decision to not institute petitions challenging its three patents, according to orders in each case filed Monday in the US District Court for the Northern District of California.
