Infineon Adds Patents to Suit Over Innoscience’s Next-Gen Chips

German chip maker Infineon Technologies AG expanded its courtroom battle with China’s Innoscience (Suzhou) Technology Co. over gallium-nitride semiconductor technology, adding three patents to the infringement allegations.

Infineon units based in Austria and in El Sugundo, Calif., filed an amended complaint Tuesday in the US District Court for the Northern District of California alleging that as many as 88 GaN-based semiconductor products infringe patents including US Patent Nos. 8,686,562; 9,070,755; and 8,264,003. Infineon Technologies Austria AG sued Innoscience on March 13 alleging that 30 of its products infringe US Patent No. 9,899,481.
