Infineon Accuses Rival of Copying Gallium Nitride Technology (1)

A unit of German chip maker Infineon Technolgies AG sued a Chinese rival alleging the company infringed a patent for gallium nitride semiconductor technology.

Infineon Technologies Austria AG’s accused 30 separate Innoscience Technology Co. Ltd. gallium nitride devices of infringing US Patent No. 9,899,481 in a complaint filed Wednesday in the US District Court for the Northern District of California. The ‘481 patent covers “a lateral transistor device and package with source-sensing functionality,” according to the filing.
