Impinj Says Patents Verdict Applies to NXP Sales Sent Outside US

Impinj Inc. filed a new federal lawsuit in Texas seeking damages for NXP Semiconductors NV’s sales of integrated circuits that Impinj wasn’t allowed to add to a related California patent-infringement case whose jury trial it ⁠recently won.

Jurors in Oakland, Calif., last month awarded Impinj $18.5 million after finding that NXP USA Inc. infringes two patents for technologies that improve the connectivity and sensitivity of tags used to wirelessly track inventory.

Impinj says that the verdict’s findings apply to infringing products that NXP Semiconductors Netherlands BV—a unit of NXP USA—delivered to Avery Dennison Corp. outside the US, according to ...
