IBM, Pardalis Settle Patent Suit That Drew $19.5 Million Verdict

Pardalis Technology Licensing LLC and IBM Corp. settled a patent dispute nearly two months after a Texas jury determined the tech giant owed $19.5 million for infringing methods allowing users to remotely access, edit and use shared computer files.

Chief Judge Rodney Gilstrap signed off on a 15-day stay on Nov. 2 to give the parties time to file dismissal papers, according to an order filed Monday in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. Pardalis and IBM said in a Nov. 1 joint motion that they had reached a settlement in principle.
