IBM Owes Pardalis $19.5 Million Over Using Patented Tech (1)

IBM Corp. owes Pardalis Technology Licensing LLC $19.5 million for including infringing technology into its transaction services and cloud software.

A jury determined Friday IBM infringed US Patent Nos. 7,136,869and 8,307,000, according to the verdict filed in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. The patents concern methods for technology used to allow users to remotely access, edit and use shared computer files.

A IBM spokesperson said in an emailed statement the company disagrees with the verdict and intends to appeal.

“The patents in question concern old technology that does not apply to IBM’s Blockchain products,” ...
