Honeywell, Swiss Firm Scandit Settling Barcode Patent Dispute

Honeywell International Inc. and Scandit AG have reached an agreement to resolve patent infringement allegations involving barcode-scanning products and asked a judge to pause proceedings in a consolidated suit while they tie up loose ends.

Honeywell’s co-plaintiff Hand Held Products Inc. joined the pair in requesting a 30-day stay to allow the parties to meet settlement obligations and file for dismissal, according to a joint motion filed Monday in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas.
