Honeywell, Manufacturer End Liquid-Filled Lenses Patent Suit

Honeywell International Inc. and manufacturer Holochip Corp. agreed to resolve their patent infringement dispute concerning barcode scanner products.

The companies said they are dismissing the case with prejudice, according to a joint motion filed Thursday in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. Holochip’s allegations against Varjo Technologies Oy over the same technology remain pending.

  • Holochip in September separately sued Honeywell and Varjo Technologies, alleging the companies infringed US Patent Nos. 7,646,544, 8,064,142, and 8,605,361 which protect methods for a fluidic optical device. Holochip said Honeywell’s barcode scanner incorporates similar methods in its lens system. ...
