High Court Wants SG’s Thoughts on Amazon Web Users’ Patent Win

The U.S. Supreme Court asked for the government’s views on a patent owner’s request to rein in the Federal Circuit’s expansion of a patent-specific doctrine barring follow-on lawsuits that blocked it from suing 80 Amazon Web Services Inc. users for infringement.

There is no time limit on when the acting solicitor general must file the brief, so it could be several more months before the court decides whether it will hear the case.
