Google Dodges Supreme Court Review of Its Ad Tech Patent Win

The US Supreme Court on Monday declined to hear a patent owner’s challenge of the court’s framework for analyzing potentially abstract ideas not eligible for patent protection, sealing Google LLC‘s win in a suit over online advertising technology IP.

The US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit in July affirmed the invalidation of a host of claims contained in patents belonging to Impact Engine Inc., which sued the tech titan in 2019.
