Florida Museum Drops Claims Against Fortnite Maker Over Game Map

The owner of South Florida’s Coral Castle chose to dismiss trademark claims against Epic Games Inc. over a map in its hit game “Fortnite” that uses the same name and allegedly resembles the site, according to a filing in Miami federal court.

The Coral Castle is a limestone structure in South Florida with a garden of megaliths outside of it. Coral Castle Inc.'s August complaint said the area is “noted for legends surrounding its creation,” and has been called Florida’s Stonehenge based on its mysterious background. The company owns two federal “Coral Castle” trademarks.
