Epic Systems Settles Patent Suit Over MyChart Software Program

Epic Systems Corp. settled a lawsuit alleging its health-care software MyChart infringed a patent covering systems for controlling information and using communications devices through a central server.

SynKloud Technologies LLC agreed to a covenant not to sue Epic and dropped all its allegations against the company and its customers related to US Patent 8,856,383, according to a joint stipulation of dismissal filed Monday in the US District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin. The companies said Epic also agreed to dismiss its counterclaims against SynKloud.
