DSW and Plaintiff Signal Settlement in Website Data Patent Suit

Shoe retailer DSW and DataCloud Technologies LLC are resolving their patent infringement lawsuit over data-management methods used in the company’s app and website.

DSW, formally known as Designer Brands Inc., and DataCloud requested a 30-day stay of proceedings to finalize a settlement agreement and file dismissal documents, in a joint motion filed Tuesday in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas.

DataCloud sued DSW in January, alleging the retailer infringed US Patent Nos. 6,651,063 and 7,209,959.

The patent owner said it sent DSW a demand letter discussing the asserted patents in December 2020.
