DSW Hit With Patent Suit Over App and Website Data Technology

DataCould Technologies LLC is accusing Designer Brands Inc., doing business as DSW, of patent infringement over the shoe retailer’s data management methods in its app and website.

DataCloud sent DSW a letter about its patent portfolio in December 2020, according to its complaint filed Tuesday in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. The patent owner said DSW’s app and website infrastructure infringe US Patent Nos. 6,651,063 and 7,209,959.
