Dolby Keeps Defensive Patent Suit Against InterDigital Alive

InterDigital Inc. couldn’t convince a federal judge in California to dismiss a preemptive suit filed against it by Dolby Laboratories Inc. after InterDigital sued several Dolby customers including The Walt Disney Co.

Dolby’s suit came a little over a year after the patent aggregator sued Disney in February 2025, accusing it of patent infringement in part due to incorporating Dolby Vision color correction technology in its Disney+ streaming service.
