Chrissy Teigen and a New York photographer have settled their copyright infringement dispute over a photo the model and TV personality posted on Instagram.

Judge Fernando M. Olguin dismissed the lawsuit without prejudice after photographer Ulices Ramales told him the case had been settled, according to an order filed Wednesday in the US District Court for the Central District of California.

Ramales sued Teigen last September over posting the image online without permission.

Ramales published the photograph of actress Katie Holmes walking down the street wearing a black blazer and wide-leg denim pants in June 2022, the complaint said. Teigen added the image to her Instagram story a few days later with the caption “would live in this outfit,” according to a screenshot provided in the complaint.

Ramales registered that photo and more than 200 others of various celebrities a month later with the US Copyright Office under Registration No. VA 2-312-097.

The legal teams for Ramales and Teigen didn’t immediately return requests for comment.

Ramales is represented by Sanders Law Group. Teigen is represented by Venable LLP.

The case is Ulices Ramales v. Chrissy Teigen, C.D. Cal., No. 2:23-cv-07312, 8/14/24.
