Chamberlain Gets New Patent Trial, Fees Over Late Reveal (1)

An East Texas federal judge ordered a new trial to determine whether Overhead Door infringes a Chamberlain Group garage door patent, sanctioning Overhead for its disclosure of a new product the evening before jury selection.

Judge Rodney Gilstrap in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas also ordered Overhead Door Corp. and Genie Company pay The Chamberlain Group LLC over $1.1 million in fees for certain work Chamberlain did in preparation for the trial.
