Bull Semen-Sorting Competitors Drop Appeal in Patent Dispute

The Federal Circuit dismissed a challenge to an $8.6 million patent infringement verdict at the joint request of ABS Global Inc. and its rival, STgenetics.

The two companies traded barbs in oral argument before the court on Jan. 10, as ABS argued that jurors from the US District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin erred when they didn’t nix an STgenetics patent describing a way to sort semen samples based on gender.
