Broadcom, Netflix End Five-Year Video-Streaming Patent Lawsuit

A California federal judge dismissed Broadcom Corp. and Avago Technologies International Sales PTE Ltd.'s long-running patent lawsuit against Netflix Inc.

The judgment against the plaintiffs in the US District Court for the Central District of California followed a back-and-forth between Judge James Donato and the parties, in which both sides stipulated to dropping all remaining claims, counterclaims, and defenses.

The stipulations to the court referenced the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit’s June 2023 decision backing an administrative tribunal’s axing of some of the patent claims and its April 2024 decision affirming the invalidation of additional patent claims. ...
